We don't know. Some of us had theories back in the day based on instability and connections to this world, but I don't know myself. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to it. You can't guess who comes in and is likely to disappear the next day.
No, actually. I disappeared and came back and remembered everything. That's the issue. Us disappearing can involve us returning. Usually the returns are faster.
