[After the execution, Bellamy wanders the beach, too keyed up to do much of anything else. He's not so much walking as pacing, steps a bit too quick and posture a bit too tense. He hates this, and it's written in every line of his face, like he's trying very hard to figure something out and failing utterly. When he spots Vriska, though, he finally stops.]

Breaking the rules? That's the way I'd play it! But it's risky. Get caught and you may not get off as lightly as Nino did. What did you have in mind?

Shut the Chiefs down and figure out how they got us here in the first place.

You want to take on the Chiefs directly? That is extremely dumb, but I admire your optimism! As for that second thing, I am not sure it matters, unless you think we can reverse the process. Those Chiefs are powerful, you know. In a freaky way I can't really understand!

[jettisons]

Raven's dealt with worse than this. She'll be able to shut them down.

[He says this with utter conviction. If anyone can do it, it's Raven.]

[ Quiet for a moment. ]

I really like Raven, and I want to see her live, so I will tell you a secret, Bellamy. I used to have powers! Flight, telepathy, you name it. I was pretty powerful! And I am not saying that to boast, but to make a point. The Chiefs have somehow completely nerfed all my powers. I ain't got shit on this island. Not even the powers that are latent to my species! They have abilities we don't understand. If you and Raven come up with a plan to take them out, make sure it is completely foolproof.

[ a siiigh. ]

To answer your question, yes.

[jettisons]

[Bellamy sucks in a breath, then exhales slowly. He's heard a bit about that, courtesy of Katara, but hearing the details is something else. This is really nothing like he's ever dealt with before.]

We'll make sure, but I want to know whose side you're on.

Are you asking me if I'm planning on killing anybody?

[jettisons]

Yes.

[At least they're both being blunt!]

I'm not planning on it, no. But I won't lie to you. I have killed people before, and I would do it again out of self-defense if I had to. My only goal right now is to try and break this game so we can just get out of here.

[ ... ]

I'd like to get as many people out of here as we can, [ she says, quiet. ] I mean, you've talked to the rest of them as much as I have. Half these people are way in over their fucking heads.

[jettisons]

Where's your limit? Where would you stop?

[Self-defense is one thing, but Bellamy can't fathom murdering someone unprovoked. Not anymore.]

[ The look she gives him is -- thoughtful. Taking his measure. ]

That really depends on how things develop. But to try and give you a straight answer, I won't be killing anyone unless there is literally no other option.

[jettisons]

[Bellamy nods, quiet and considering.]

Good. I don't want this turning into a bloodbath. There's a difference between being able to survive and deserving it.

[hypertoxic]

You and Raven have been through some shit, haven't you? She didn't tell me much, but I got the impression that your lives were pretty brutal.

[jettisons]

[Bellamy shrugs.]

It hasn't been a picnic. What's your point?

[hypertoxic]

[ vriska will grin, a small, knowing thing. ]

Simmer down. There's no point. Just that you two are much more realistic about our situation than most people I've spoken to.

We know how bad things can go. I'm hoping it won't come to that.
