week one, friday afternoon

[It takes a while for Bellamy to calm down. Logically, he's seen worse. He's seen people tortured and murdered right in front of him, but that doesn't stop the sight of Haru's head from sticking in his thoughts, resurfacing again and again no matter how much he tries to push it away.

He knows it's worse for Akira. Bellamy saw the expression on his face when Hal uncovered Haru, and he knows Akira's not going to be doing well. It takes him a hell of a long time to find him, though, off on a remote part of the beach. Bellamy approaches slowly, trying to give Akira ample time leave if he needs it.]

[Bellamy wasn't expecting things to go south this quickly and this brutally, and it's like a punch in the gut. Worse is the fact that it was poor Haru to go first, who was gentle and kind and far, far too good for this.

It takes him a bit to calm down from his initial anger, but when he does, he realizes Serph has disappeared. They need to figure out what the hell they're going to do, so Bellamy sets off to look for him, combing the beach. When he finally does, his voice is low and a little urgent.]

Serph. You okay?

week one, friday morning

[As soon as everyone starts to disperse, Bellamy looks for Raven. When he woke up this morning with that strange subconscious insistence that something was missing, part of him was terrified it would be her. Even now that he knows that isn't true, he's disquieted, made worse by the knowledge that he promised to protect Haru and failed. He can't dwell on that now and he knows it, but that doesn't make the guilt disappear. In fact, in some ways, it makes it that much worse.

He finally spots Raven closer to the huts, and his pace picks up unconsciously. He's fine. This is all fine.]

[Bellamy's emotional state is going through a lot of stages today—he keeps flop flopping back and forth, calming himself down and then working himself up all over again. Finally, he breaks his own advice and heads out alone, planting himself on the beach, his body language tense. There's nothing he can do about any of this right now, and that knowledge is always enough to drive him nuts.]

[Bellamy doesn't do well when he feels helpless, and this is the most helpless he's felt in a long time. He's trapped with no information, almost nothing to go off of, and the girl he promised he'd protect is dead. It doesn't take long at all for him to set off across the island in search of Lief, who he's begun to think of as levelheaded and reliable. If there's a trial tomorrow, they need a game plan.]
