Have you participated in a short-term game before? Nope! This is my first one.
I have read the rules and understand the activity requirements: Yes!
Name: Bellamy Blake
Canon: The 100
Age: 23
(Brief) Canon Description:
The 100 is a CW show about kids trying to survive in a post apocalyptic hellscape. More specifically, about 100 years before the start of the show, a rogue AI launched a ton of nukes, which killed almost everyone on Earth and made it uninhabitable. The only remaining survivors were on twelve space stations orbiting the Earth, which they combined into one giant station they called the Ark. The show starts when 100 teenage prisoners are sent to Earth to see if it's still habitable, because the Ark's life support systems are failing. Bellamy sneaks onto the drop ship to be with his sister, Octavia, but once on the ground the group discovers that humans have survived on Earth (albeit in greatly diminished numbers) all along.
And here's a wiki link too.
Personality/Background:
Bellamy grew up on the Ark, which was a super strict, super rule obsessed society, and spent his childhood hiding his younger sister, Octavia, under the floor because she technically was never supposed to be born. Basically, this gave Bellamy a whole mess of trust issues, for people in general but authority especially. Bellamy almost never follows the rules, especially if he thinks those rules are bullshit, and he's near obsessive about protecting his friends, or as he puts it, "his people", because he views them as his responsibility in the same way he does Octavia. It general takes Bellamy a while to warm up to others, but once he does, he's very ride or die for them, and incredibly hard on himself about taking care of them. That means he's will to do a lot of really intense, morally questionable things to keep his friends safe, and also means that he constantly beats himself up over not doing better. He's gotten better about focusing on saving who he can save rather than killing himself trying to save everyone, but it's still something that motivates him more than anything else.
He's a pretty good leader, though! He does have a tendency to follow his heart rather than his head, and he feels his emotions really, really deeply, which leads to situations like him trying to beat the shit out of someone for almost killing his friends. He has berserk buttons, which are pretty easy to press (like, just don't go anywhere near his sister or even look at her wrong or sneeze in her direction), and after they're pressed, that person is on his hit list for the rest of eternity, unless they claw their way off of it. He does have a decent amount of emotional intelligence. He's not good at diplomacy or negotiating truces, but he's good at reading the people under him and knowing where their talents lie and how to motivate them. Let's be real, though, Bellamy is an emotional mess, and that means that he makes absolutely terrible decisions when he's grieving or angry or feeling guilty which is like, 75% of the time.
Bellamy's also stubborn as hell and totally willing to put himself in harm's way to save a friend. He has this weird self-sacrificial side, partially because he's screwed up so many times in canon he's not completely sure he deserves to survive over everyone else. When push comes to shove, though, Bellamy is pretty much a cockroach, and he'll keep going even if he has to crawl to do it.
tl;dr - Bellamy is like the pretty bad boy trope with a side of war crimes and a lot more crying.
Moral Alignment: Chaotic good? Sometimes he slips more towards true neutral, depending on the circumstances. For the most part, Bellamy's priority is his people, but who he considers "his people" shifts pretty significantly over the course of the show. Bellamy's done a lot of really terrible things to save Skaikru, including killing hundreds of innocent people, but during season four he begins to focus more on saving everyone. Despite that, he doesn't shy away from murder, and a lot of times doesn't even hesitate if it's an out and out self-defense situation, like the time he nearly strangled Echo to death for almost killing Octavia. Killing people out of revenge isn't out of the question for him, either, but for the most part he's motivating by protecting others.
Item: An old, worn copy of The Iliad.
Role: I think I'm going to pass on a role this time! Since this is my first murdergame, I think it's for the best if I focus on getting used to the format and the speed.
