week three, sunday night
[Bellamy watches the rest of the executions as those it's his responsibility, some kind of vigil, and then he disappears for a while. He can't handle being around anyone else at first. Vriska's anger is exactly what he's feeling, although in an exhausted way. This couldn't have possibly gone worse, and he doesn't know how to stop this game from continuing. They've hit a dead end.
By the time he finally reappears, it's near sunset. It doesn't take him long to spot Vriska on the beach, and when he does, he approaches wordlessly, simply sitting down beside her and resting a hand on her shoulder. There's not much to say.]

For a while they will just sit together in silence. It's not uncomfortable. It is one of those very rare moments Vriska finds she enjoys the peace.
Eventually she'll sigh and scrub her face with one hand. ]
There is something you should know, Bellamy. I lied to you about having a role. I'm a Siren, like Raven. I know she kept our identities secret from you, but it seems pointless now.

She hasn't told me much. I think she's trying to protect me.
[He's not sure there's much point in that, either. It's impossible to think any of them can be safe after today.]
I won't tell anyone.
no subject
[ God, how is it possible to even feel this tired? ]
I was the one who killed Lelouch. That's the real reason Battler was with me that night. He was my alibi. I had no idea he didn't prepare one for Quiet Jack.
What he explained after the trial was correct. As far as we know, this is the only way to save everyone. [ Rubs her face, then stares out at the inky black ocean. ] But I meant what I said earlier today. I'm done playing by their stupid fucking rules.
no subject
I know Raven wouldn't have gone along with it if she had a choice. How do you stop playing without setting off the eruption?

[He can't be sure if she's serious or if that's just some carryover from her world.]
What volcano spirit?
no subject
Didn't you hear Battler mention it to Magilou? There's a spirit.
no subject
[Understatement of the year. "Shutting down" is more accurate.]
I caught most of what he said. Tell me.

Guess this spirit has never heard of Prometheus.
[He knows she probably won't get the reference, and it's said more to himself than her.]
So what do I do? How do I keep anyone else from dying?
no subject
[ ... ]
I have just one idea. I should have a decent amount of whatever passes for credit with the Chiefs. I can try and use this influence to drag a solution out of them.
no subject
[This is an absolute mess.]
Who did you tell?
no subject
I didn't. Jacopo approached me and accused me of having a role. I let him talk himself into believing I was the item role, because it was a convenient cover for all the snooping I've been doing! But he told Yona. And Lief. And Lief told Magilou. At this point, I have no idea who else knows. Eventually it will reach the real item role, at which point I'm completely screwed.

Spread the word that you don't want anyone else being told. Tell them you don't want it getting back to the sirens.

Our job is to kill one participant per week. If we don't, the volcano erupts. If the rest of the villagers manage to kill all the sirens, the volcano erupts. The current win conditions that we know of are for the Sirens to outlast the villagers, or for seven total people to remain. The Chiefs implied to us that if we killed as brutally as possible, fewer people would need to die.
[ Glances at him, frowning slightly. ] That is everything I know. That is why I want to try and find another way out. I'm not sure we will survive another trial.
no subject
You think the rest of the island would be stupid enough to try to kill all of you when they know that means we automatically lose?
no subject
[ A sigh through her nose. ]
They're angry, and rightfully so. Many of them will want revenge, or simply for the game to finally end. Worse, though, is that there will probably be those who defend us. The friends we've made, who trust us and want us to live. Discovering all the Sirens will split the village in two in an all-out psychological war between the two sides. We've already seen the explosive results of such a schism! I think there is a very high risk of the village falling apart. And if we don't satisfy at least one of the win conditions, those who have died will stay dead, and we'll all be fucking toast. At least one of the Sirens must live.
[ ... ]
I believe I can trust you, Bellamy. I will tell you the identities of the rest of the Sirens if you swear to help me protect them.
no subject
[This is a lot to take in. He pauses for a second, trying to mull it over.]
They told you we can bring everyone back. Do you believe them?
no subject
[ Gestures loosely. ]
They have incredible powers we cannot understand. I certainly believe they have the capability. The will is a different question. But Hal, at least, operates on respect. He doesn't tolerate bullshit. If we play his game, and play it well, I believe he'll revive everyone.
no subject
Tell me.
no subject
Out of all of us. Fie probably has the best chance of staying alive. If the rest of the villagers take me down, I need you to keep Raven and Fie alive as best you can. Serph is probably toast if anyone decides to get their panties in a twist over his whole cannibalism thing.
no subject
I can't protect anyone if I'm dead because someone decides to go gunning for Serph. Will they care that you told me?
no subject
[ .... ]
As for that, I'm not sure. We all already knew Raven had told you about our existence. I don't think it would come as a huge shock that you discovered all our identities, though I can't imagine either of them being overjoyed about it. You've proven reliably trustworthy, though. I can speak to them first, let them know you know.
uses the most huffy icon i have
[He thinks that should be reason to believe he'll act in their best interests, let alone the fact that he and Raven are attached at the hip. He's almost a little insulted.]
I'll help as much as I can.
lmao bellamy chill
Chill out. I know Serph is a good dude, and I trust you to look after him, too, not just because it means your hide as much as his.
[ A breath out. ]
Thank you, Bellamy. To be honest, it is a huge relief to get all of this off my chest, and know that at least someone is in my corner. Aside from the other Sirens, that is.
he is physically incapable honestly
You're welcome. I still don't like this. I'd rather tear this whole damn thing to the ground than give them what they want.
[But if they can bring back everyone who's died, it's the only choice.]
What do you want me to do? Lie at trials?
no subject
[ Rubs her face. ]
I don't think I will survive another trial. That probably won't matter, but if I somehow make it that far, then yes. Protect the other Sirens, even if you can't protect me.

I know, Bellamy. I believe in you.

Just tell me what you need.
